ICEEP 10 Social Program

Sunday 6:00 – 8:00 pm:
Informal welcome ceremony including drinks and light food with an indigenous welcome to country at 7:00 pm. This event will be on the Sea Grass Lawn of the Mantra Hotel. Dress is casual. Eat at restaurant of your choosing in Lorne after the welcome ceremony.

Monday 7:00 – 10:00 pm:
Opening Dinner at the Qdos art gallery and restaurant (approximately 10 minutes drive from the Conference Centre). Shuttle buses will begin leaving the Mantra from 6:30 pm and will return as needed after dinner. Dinner and drinks are included. Entertainment by the a capella Trinity Tiger Tones. Cocktail attire suitable for outdoors (men a jacket please, tie optional, expected temperature 18-24oC). Please no shorts, tee shirts, baseball caps, or jeans.

Tuesday 5:00 – 7:00 pm:
Poster Wine and Cheese reception at the Convention Centre in the Mantra. Wine and cheese are provided as you peruse the posters and commercial stands. Dress – conference wear.

Tuesday 8:00 – 11:00 pm:
Beach themed party at the Lorne Surf Life Saving Club (100 metres west of the Mantra, on the beach). Heavy finger food is provided, and your first drink is free; subsequent drinks are at bar prices (bring cash). Dancing to a DJ. Dress – casual evening beach wear (shorts, tee shirts, Hawaiian shirts, linen shirts, coconut oil).

Wednesday:
Recreation day. See details. 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Wednesday (arrive at 7:30 – 7:45 pm for an 8:00 pm show time):
Movie night at the Lorne theatre (100 metres from Mantra). We will be showing an Australian classic “Priscilla Queen of the Desert”. Entry is free, snacks (ice cream, chips, chocolates, non-alcoholic drinks, etc) will be available for purchase but we suggest that you eat before or after the movie. No alcohol permitted in theatre. If you’re game, come in drag! If not, casual dress.

Thursday 8:00 – 11:00 pm:
Pre-dinner drinks and canapes on the Sea Grass Lawn of Mantra Hotel from 7:00 until 8:00 pm. The Gala Dinner will be held in the Convention Centre and begins at 8:00 pm. Dinner, speeches and dancing. The dress code is semi-formal with a touch of surf wear.

Friday: End of conference. No organised social events.
