Recreation Day - Wed 14 Nov

A number of activities have been arranged for delegates to choose from on Weds 14th November. This is included in the cost of the full program registration. We will contact delegates ahead of the conference to determine your preferred activity.

  1. Erskine Falls walk
A pleasant but rewarding 7km walk following the Erskine River from the tidal river mouth at Lorne to the Otway Range's most popular waterfall that cascades 30 metres into a fern tree lined gully. The track is well formed but walk can be strenuous at times. Running shoes will be sufficient but the track does crosses the Erskine River in many places. Return to Lorne is by bus.
  2. Mountain bike riding (MTB) - Aireys Inlet
An adventure on two wheels in the Australian bush. Our instructors will prepare and guide you before taking you on a thrilling single track adventure along Distillery Creek to the Currawong Falls. The trip will be approximately 2 hours in duration and is suitable for riders of most skill levels. If you would like to bring your own cycling shoes, please bring matching pedals.
  3. Surfing
Australia's favourite past time. With qualified instructors learn to surf the cool waters of Louttit Bay. All equipment including wetsuits supplied.
  4. Yoga
Relax, clear your mind and enjoy the salt air and natural surroundings with a session of beach yoga.
  5. Sea Kayaking
Ocean paddling on Louttit Bay Lorne. The view of the coastline and Lorne itself from the ocean is remarkable. Paddle to the estuary of Erskine River or Point Grey to see the wonderful pier.
  6. Canoeing
A leisurely and fun paddle along Painkalac river at Aireys Inlet. From the wide river mouth through twisting bends to the narrow upstream calm and perhaps spot a mob of kangaroos feeding in the quiet grassy fields.
  7. 12 Apostles
Without doubt the most visited sight along Victoria's Great Ocean Road is the iconic 12 Apostles. A six hour bus tour passing first through the lush temperate rain forests of the Otway Ranges before emerging to the shipwreck coast and limestone cliffs to view the regions many wonderful sights. Please note that lunch is not provided on this tour but the bus will stop at plenty of great places to buy a meal.
