Abstract and Manuscript Submission Process

Abstracts will be submitted online via www.easyabstract.com. Manuscripts will be submitted and handled online via the Equine Veterinary Journal. The deadline for abstract submission will be 15th August 2009 in order to ensure that printed proceedings are available for delegates at the conference.

Abstracts may be submitted for consideration for:

1) Oral presentation with accepted manuscript
2) Poster presentation with accepted manuscript
3) Poster presentation without manuscript

Oral presentations at the conference (full oral or poster-oral) will only be by authors with a manuscript accepted for publication and printed in the proceedings. The Poster without manuscript option has been included to allow people to attend who may be reluctant to present in English or who are not sufficiently fluent or confident enough to prepare a manuscript in English. We have included this option to encourage authors/researchers in this position to attend, learn and interact without the pressure of submitting a manuscript or giving an oral presentation. Only one submission per author as 1st author will be considered

Abstract and Manuscript Review Process

Recent evidence suggests that there is a considerable difference between review of blinded and un-blinded manuscripts with respect to author and affiliation/institution. Therefore abstracts submitted by the deadline (15th August 2009) will be blinded for authors and affiliation before being sent to subject specialist chairs/editors (2-3 per subject area) previously appointed by the International Committee. Click here to see a list of the subject editors. Abstracts will be ranked by the subject chairs (blinded) for the purpose of setting the scientific programmes with respect to invitation to present as an oral or poster presentation. Authors will then be notified of the decision on their abstract and invited to submit a full manuscript for peer review by 10th January 2010. Manuscripts will be blinded to author and affiliation and then sent to the subject specialist editors. The name(s) of the author(s) and the Institution where the work was done (full postal address/es) should NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE DOCUMENT in order to allow blinded review. Authors should also ensure that the document properties do not disclose the author or institution if they wish the review to be blinded.
