It is the presenting author's responsibility to ensure that their presentation is loaded onto the server in the conference centre well in advance of their allotted presentation time in order to address any issues related to compatibility or formatting.

POSTERS (general)

All posters should be hung either on Sunday evening between 5 and 7pm prior to the Cocktail reception or as soon as possible on Monday. Posters will remain in place for the duration of the conference and should be removed at 5pm on Friday. The location of your poster (name and number) will be shown on a plan in the conference venue reception area.

The size of posters is A0 = 80 cm HORIZONTAL x 120 cm VERTICAL

The amount of information on a poster should be sufficient for a reader to understand the reasons for the study, the basic methodology, the results and the conclusions. The Font size used should allow someone to be able to comfortably read the text from at least 1 metre. [2. CLICK HERE TO SEE AN EXAMPLE].

Authors should consult the scientific programme to know the day and time of either auditorium poster presentation (invitation to submit poster+manuscript) or poster only invitation (guided viewing). This will also be available online at and in the printed handbook provided at the conference.

(Poster with Manuscript category)

If at the abstract stage you were invited to submit a poster with manuscript then you will be allocated a 5 min slot in which to present your poster in the auditorium. If you were invited in this category but your manuscript was rejected in the review process you are still permitted a poster auditorium presentation.

Your slide file should be saved on a USB stick or CD and be transferred onto the conference computer system by the AV technician. Please come to the slide loading area THE DAY BEFORE your presentation to load your slides and check them. The filename should include the first author/presenting authors name and the session e.g. marlin_applied physiology.

(Poster without Manuscript category)

If you have been invited or requested to present a poster only presentation, due to the number of submissions for posters, this classification of poster will not be presented in the auditorium. Instead, posters in this category will be allocated a slot for guided viewing (see programme). For their allocated slot, authors will be required to be by their posters and the subject editors for the area will conduct a discussion. The author will be invited to briefly summarise their poster after which delegates may ask questions mediated by the subject editors. Guided viewing will take place during tea, coffee and lunch breaks with a small number of posters viewed at each break to maximise discussion time.
